Help our neighbors stay housed

When Maggie* and her three children entered ARCHES' homelessness diversion program, she was four months behind on rent and facing eviction. She was terrified of losing her apartment and being unable to provide for her children. ARCHES was able to immediately pay her past due rent and enroll her in our case management program. With the help of her case manager, within three months, she found a job and arranged for day care for her children. Even though she still had one month of rental assistance left, Maggie said she didn't need it, and is confident that she can stay in her new home.

In March of 2001, Community Action's The ARCHES Project took off as a collaborative effort to bridge people facing homelessness with services throughout the community. ARCHES has since developed over 60 partners in the Marion and Polk County region to offer integrated interventions based on individual needs. MWVCAA’s ARCHES program has developed a series of projects that work to provide comprehensive and evidence based solutions to abate homelessness, such as: day centers, emergency shelters, rural resource centers, rental assistance, permanent housing, supportive navigation services, food resources, as well as healthcare connections. MWVCAA is proud of ARCHES' ongoing housing achievements and services for people experiencing homelessness.
